Daddy Was a Jesus Man (from songwriter Sandy Blomer) My dad was my best friend in the world! I wouldn't have penned 300 songs if it hadn't been for my dad. He taught me the sound of piano, guitar and the fiddle. So many songs are written about Mama's whom we love as well, but little are written about our dads. My dad taught me about Jesus by the way he lived his life. As the songs says, he never wore a diamond on his hand. We had a bible we lived by and plenty of food on our table. We were rich in blessings. Oh how I wish he could take me "fishing" just once more! Someday we'll sit together at the Jordan River and fish all day long! That is, after we worship our almighty King of Kings! DADDY WAS A JESUS MAN was my dad's favorite song, requested and sang at his funeral. |
